Small dogs make for the perfect companion for people who live by themselves or for older couples because handling a larger dog can be much more challenging.
The small breeds of dogs are happy and energetic which likewise makes them a great family pet as well. These little companions are perfect for those who may live in a small apartment or home because they do not require much room for exercise.
Small dogs have the average life expectancy of about 14-16 years which is a substantial difference as the larger breeds. The Miniature Schnauzer: a bright, active, lively, faithful and caring dog. He would prefer to be at the center of your life and to spend as much time with you as he may. Quite frequently he will be committed to his favored individual, but he will also attach happily with the rest of the household if there’s one.
The Yorkshire Terrier, or “Yorkie,” is a delicate, bouncy, caring, happy, active, capable and dedicated dog. He focuses completely on his family, and craves attention, and love. He would like to be near you and will sit and snuggle in your lap–but just for so long! He enjoys and looks for adventure, and will get into mischief if he isn’t given enough to do.
Now I may be a little prejudice because I have seven of my own but I have found the Pomeranian to be a terrific house dog and companion. Now I am not saying that they are perfect because they do have their flaws but I think their their terrific personality outweighs any one of their bad habits. They do tend to be very territorial and this leads to a lot of barking as a result of any noise they hear that is not common to the household. However, as far as being sweet and cuddly they take the prize.
