Poly shelter for the hardwood floors = puppy problems?
I'm pulling carpet from wall to wall to the adjoining room and dining room in a house they just bought last year. The installation program – in my house through a door leading directly to the dining room. You can turn right here in the living room (which staircase leads to the above) or you can go straight through the dining room and kitchen. The kitchen has a back entrance, which leads to a back door into the courtyard. I have 3 dogs of different sizes and ages. The dogs stay on the ground floor only, using the rear exit to go to court. If I'm going to sand the floors and then cop, how I give 24 hours of drying time, with access to the doors of the dogs out? If I'm polying in the dining room, you can not walk on the floor – the dogs can not come and go lounge, I can not get upstairs. This room is the contact for access and egress to all areas of the house. How do I cut out for 24 hours? I'm thinking to launch a tent right in the back of the W 24 hrs / dogs.
Although not generally recommend water-based finishes, in your situation-I-could consider using one. They are extremely fast drying with little or no odor. You could very possibly walking on your floors in just 4 hours. Please note that only a very high base of poly water quality would be sustained with their dogs, if you go this route. Another possibility would be to use a moisture cure urethane. Also can be very fast drying (4-6 h) to allow day use. Moisture cured polyurethanes are one of the strongest available late and would be an excellent option their dogs. The smell is-very-questionable (there are low odor formulations available) and are notoriously difficult to implement, even for the most qualified professionals. In the end, you will probably have to camp or stay at a friend or family home. As the owner of a dog that has been in your situation, I realize that not many people welcome three dogs, even if only overnight. ^
