My son is 5 months but was 3 months early so is effectively 2 months. What is a good routine for him? He has his bath at 6.30, and bed at 7, he gets up when he wakes between 7 and 8. He doesnt have any set nap times at the mo, but I think maybe he should as he just cat naps on me at the mo for a few minutes a time. Also.. should I be putting in his cot for naps?
You should trust your instincts as his mother and do whatever you feel is best.
Babies don’t run to routines. Their stomachs are very small (particularly since your son is only 2 months corrected) and most babies prefer frequent smaller feeds rather than large 4 hourly feeds (particularly breatsfed babies). It is better to feed frequently through the day to work towards less frequent feeds of a night. He’s going to want to get in at least 6 feeds a day and better this happens in the daylight hours than at night when you need to rest for your very tiring job.
If you really want to give a routine a go the one I found best was the “eat – play – sleep” model. Fairly straight forward. Feed bub, have some playtime together and then settle him for sleep. At this age the play periods should be very short so he doesnt get overstimulated which can cause sleep disorder. From when he wakes up untl he goes back down should be around 60-90 minutes. This will change as he gets older.
You dont have to put him in his cot if you dont want to. It depends on your preference. If you do it might be a good way to get him used to sleeping in his cot. It would also give you more freedom to have some time to yourself and relax while he is sleeping.

Why my dog was just above my husband when he was sick?
Can anyone explain why my male Saint Bernard set out in Part top right of my husband, nose to nose when my husband was sick with a cold and fever. My dog never did this before. My husband was laying on his back in the sick bed with a terrible cold and fever and my St. Bernard got up on top of him and put his body lying in the upper right of him. Was trying to keep warm or something. Never, never put on anyone. Can anyone explain this behavior.
This is a very interesting question. There are a couple of different things happening here. One is that your dog looks at you and your spouse as part of their package so that when her husband became ill and in a state of weakness of his dog seen as a weak member of vonerable package because the dog was sick and was taking upon himself to care for him to see anything that would hurt. The other reason I think it is because St Bernard for hundreds of years have been bred for rescue dogs and have a strong impulse to come to the rescue of a person into trouble. One of the main types of work to rescue these dogs are bred for mountain rescue. When these dogs find someone who was buried in the snow that had fallen to through some thin ice that could get them out or swim out and retrieve that person. Once the person had withdrawn to the safety of St Bernard sit through the person to help regulate the body temprature people. The reason why the new dog to do this was that they were thought to detect chemicals changes in the human body temprature told them the body was not normal people. So the dog would put enormous body is covered with thick through the person an attempt to help regulate the body temp using your own body heat. What I think your dog did was scence a chemical change in her body told her husband that temperature instinctivly her husband's body was not normal. There was no difference in the time it was a fever or hypothermia. All new dog was not normal and the only way to govern was to lay in he. I was just doing what has been raised and what came natural to him. GREAT DOG.
